What do you guys think? We have alot of mud over here in nz, so there's not the traction to break cvs/ axels like you do.. Ive been running 35" silverstones for about a year now.. I can get the treps cheap so that's why I'm thinking of going bigger...

Anyone else run them? I know a few on here run treps but thats mostly on 60 or patrol diffs..
I'm yet to break anything in the driveline with the 35s..

Rhett in Qld has 37" Treps on his micro buggy with a Sierra front diff. Not sure if it has been wheeled properly yet though.

You'll wipe out rear axles. There's a bunch of us running 35" tyres on full float vitara based rears and we have intermittent axle failure with EN-26 and 300m shafts. We have had axle failure in mud/wet rock- a big bounce will do it.

Treps are heavy.

Treps are stupidly heavy, it won't be the traction that'll do you in but the sheer force it takes to spin the things. I reckon you'd be lucky to see change out of 60kg per corner. My 34 inch swamper with KPD alloy beadlock weighed in around 30kg per corner.

If i can come up with a good way of strengthening the front end i'll be running 37s on my built vitara diffs

Pretty sure he runs 33's mainly if your talking about the micro jeep.

I am and no. Its on 37" Treps. Last i wheeled with him it was on 35's.

Ive seen him run speed events and tough tracks crawling comps on bald 33s

Yeah he changes brand/size semi regularly as they fall apart haha.
The last 33's i saw him on were MTRs. Between leaving the night run we were on and him getting back to camp he only had one tyre still on a rim haha.


But anyway. I think 37's will be short lived on a zook diff.

the axle shafts are the weak point in a vitara diff too as they are the same size.

i have bigger shafts in my floater and am looking at bigger again in the hopes of being able to run 37s.

Hub bolts are currently the weak point from a torque perspective in my front end.... But that's not to say that bearings (kingpins and wheel) aren't high maintenance items- the increased leverage and weight is substantial. 37's (especially treps) are a big jump up again.

Rear axles fail before rear hub bolts.

I don't want stronger hub bolts as I'd rather replace hub bolts than diff gears or axles.

i have 35" creepy's and on rim weigh 55KG's each and only have about 10mm tread left in the middle it'd be safe to say mounted rim and tyre 37" treps would be well over 60KG's each

I dunno if i can lift 60kg or not, but i can definitely lift a 37" trep with ease.
