Heya
So my 94 sierra with a g13a started using water about a week ago
Did a few tests and ended up removing the cylinder head only to find that the head is no good and that the motor isnt the original with 1mm oversized pistons at only 175xxxk's
Started cleaning bits of the old gasket off the block and found a crack in the block from 1-2 cylinders
I have another g13a that is good for a rebuild

My question is
What motors bolt in without engineering etc other than the g16a and gti motor
Would a motor out of a jimny like the g13bb or m13a bolt up to the standard sierra gear box if i fit the wiring loom and fuel tank unit

G16a and GTi both need engineering anyway...

Any G series engines will be relatively straight forward to fit. If it's a G13x it will bolt up to your gearbox. A G16x will need an adapter plate and possibly body lift ect because they're taller.

In W.A. 1.6 conversions dont need engineering its as simple as going in and changing the engine number and capacity at the dpi.
They do not even need to view the vehicle. Its that easy ive done a few like this. Cant speak for other states.
The g13bb jimny motor would be the easiest efi swap in my opinion.

The g16 also fits without a body lift
Also an adaptor kit for the bellhousing isnt essential plenty just drill/tap the bellhousing and bolt it straight up one engine mount does require a bracket made up or fudged a bit to fit.

Here in nsw all that is needed is a blueslip to change the engine number etc
I think there is an allowance of about 30% increase over the stock motor that is in it
I knew that the g16 needed the adaptor plate but wasnt sure about the g13 models with the block meeting up with the bellhousing
Might look at a g13bb motor nd see how that goes
