Your original idea was misguided by YOU when you sarted sprouting shit like not wanting to look like a gay hairdresser going to a gay bar, now it's people like you that waste the time and energy of a lot of people by being a complete fucktard. there alot of clever and helpful people on this site with lot s of useful information so next time you might want to try not offending half of the users of this site and ask a question with out the bull shit excuses of your fishing mates hanging crap on you, and you will proberly be surprised that the answers you get wont be insulting and will actually be helpful. I have asked a lot of silly questions of the couple of years i have been a member on this site and because i am not insulting any one i dont get 4 pages a crap laid on me. May be you should try this sometime .

thanks for the link faggot :P

looks good, like the mods.

Just a bit older than i'm looking for.

2008+ with < 60000kms

found a black, manual, 2009, roof rack, winch bullbar, towbar, dvd player, spotlights, 2" lift and near new tyres for $15k.

Will more than likely buy that one if its still available.

You guys have to get your blacks sorted.

Gloss: Highly shiney finish
Satin: Half shiney finish, highlights body lines
Matte: Dull finish, think chalkboard

So far all those rods/trucks/cars ive seen are Satin Black!

If i and my partner were Gay, id be offended by this thread. No hot pics of sexy fishermen. Dicksorban :thefinger:

I am not a homosexual. I like boobs and flange.

Matt black is THE HARDEST paint finish to make look good... you will be amazed at the panel imperfections this will make blindingly obvious... even on a brand new car.
I doubt any panel shops would be willing to do this, even for 6G+

matt black finish will require specialised clear coats to enable you to touch/wash the car without putting permanent marks in the finish.

if you want it black, do it GLOSS black, matt black is infinitely harder to achieve a decent result with.

EDIT: missed the 5 pages of flaming...whatever, you get the picture.

X2.

Even I can paint something in matte/satin/lustreless and it looks ok.

Couldn't paint gloss to save myself.

Have to disagree.. i do have some idea what im talking about.. ask a rat rodder.

The matt finish changes colour value, and tends toward grey or white depending on what you viewing angle is and the lighting present... as matt paint diffuses light this will occur even in places which would not usually reflect a light source to your eyes.

Hence a defect that may go unnoticed in a gloss job will show up clearly in matt.

Thing of a gloss black car... the only defects you see are the ones that cause a distortion in the reflection of a light source/horizon line. ect.

This is not the case with matt black, which will change 'colour' value on every angle, regardless of 'cues' like horizion line, and lighting reflections.

Bear in mind im talking about a good paint gob here, not 'i can't get gloss off the gun, better do it matt'... nor am i talking about the difficulty of applying the paint, its the panel work that is the issue with matt black.

hmm and I think your up to your neck in bullshit, and as a ex panel shop owner who has painted show winning cars and harley's also a tech demonstrator for a large paint company . I can tell you nothing shows imperfections more than high gloss.
but perhaps you know better.

The only thing i would paint matte is a chalkboard.

Satin is much nicer.

Mat likes to be painted with chocolate

I think you are confusing matt black with semi gloss/low sheen/stain black
matt is like chalk board black ( you would be silly to use that)
semi gloss/satin black is what the use in the pic above is painted in.

and no I personally would not de value a new car by painting it satin black , rat rods etc great but not new cars

also the less gloss a finish has the harder it is to clean and the more shit will stick to and stain it

I actually searched for this to link (among other funny threads of similar vein) in a thread where someone asked what colour to paint. One does not simply ask about paint options on Auszookers.
