HI All

Trying to fit a new serpentine belt to a 2000 2.0 Grand Vitara.
Got a 5pk1645
old belt (hard to read) looks like 5pk 1650 ??
Cant get the new belt on, looks way too small even with the spring loaded tensioner at full adjust.
Cant quite see the alternator to see if I can back off the adjustment to give me a bit more slack. Looks like it might be hard bolted.
Any ideas??

Check the total length to see if they are the same.

loosen alt, and aircond, push both toward block?

undo tensioner....

Borrow big phukn allenkey from Gus....

put it in center of tensioner, twist it anti clock wise, ...

swear at cutting fingers, put belt on.
Flop out alt and air con, do everything up except tensioner.

twist Allen key in tensioner to take up belt tension!tighten bolt..

Smile at job done...

or at least that worked for me!

1) There is a difference in the belt lengths - you can see it in the numbers
2) It's obvious that gregwatkins has a 2.5 V6 GV and probably did not notice the question specifies a 2.0 - the belts tensioners are different.

The solution is to get the correct belt.
