was reading a post last week or maybe two ago about inboarding rear shocks and how to do it on the cheap with a bit of 50x4 steel?????, now ive decided to do it and cant find the thread grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

help, my back end is too bumpy :oops:

(and yes i did try searching)

there really is bugger all to it. this is one i got from locktup4x4 and my
other sierra has a homemade one in it. i will take a photo of it tomorrow

If you have a body lift bolt some 50x25 on top of the cross member with some 1/2" bolts welded in. Won't flex like the flat bar.

In re: to tech, i have drilled and bolted a bit of 50x50x4 RHS so it bolts onto the stock shock mounts and allows inboarded shocks in two locations. Easy to do. I've got some pics somewhere

my exhaust is awesomely awesome

this is my lwb. it looks like it is a bit of 30x30 that is welded in.

does your shock hit the diff when flexed on your LWB shep???? looks close?

my shocks hit the diff with woosy hilux shocks in stock positions and diff moved 15mm rearwards. (stupid brake line mounts)

Can the rear spring plates be rotated and or swappped to move the bottom shock mount to the front of the diff? When i put my new ranchos in they ended up with nasty dents in them before i removed the brake line mount. It's too wet for me to head out and have a look myself! I guess the inboarded mounts could be moved rearwards maybe. Any thoughts?

i will be doing it that way, except i will use the original shock mounts to hold the shock bar.
