Wonder if aftermarket Torana A9X flares would fit well........ If I manage to get my Torana out of storage i'll mock it up to see what it looks like. I think the rear flares are 140mm, so just under 6 inches

I doubt the wheel opening will be big enough.

140mm is a little more than I think I'll need. I am aiming for 80~100mm. One day I may adjust my offset.

Hey guys
Sorry to revive an old thread but i was googling for similar things for quite sometime now and in the last week these have popped up on the internet out of the UK

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Flares-Suzuki-Jimny-WHEEL-ARCH-EXTENSIONS-12-cm-5-inch-/201101919556?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ed29bc544

check them out, pre-made to suit the jimny, not just a universal kit, and replaces the standard flares perfectly
Contemplating getting a set to test, just gotta convince the other half now, be perfect for 31's I reckon

A bit more description on their sale page would be nice. Looking at those pics I'm assuming that the 12cm wider is overall width of the car, so 6cm wider per side. Also looking at their pics it doesn't look like the inner arc is any bigger so the bottom corners may still need clearancing for 30"+ tyres.

Nice that there's a Jimny specific flare option but It sort of looks a bit bulbous. Maybe colour coding them would help.
Just my initial thoughts.

Would be good to see them bolted on and photographed from a distance. You should get them and report back with pics ;)

Yeah I have to agree with everything you say, first thing I would do is trim the inner right out to the curved edge and then either roll the inner metal guard as far as possible out of the way or cut it off back to the frame to give as much clearance as possible as i would like to go to 31's with slightly wider offset, like -20.
They have already got back to me with a freight cost of $120US so total would be around $550 Aus so not bad for something that doesn't require molestation of your origanal guards.
If I can get some more photos ill post them up for everyone to have a look.

Seems a shame that an aftermarket flare would have to still be cut to accommodate large tyres, extra coverage is good though

Looks like 5" a side though zukenutter, going by the pictures.

And i imagine the flares need cutting because where this product is popular, the Jimnys have 10" of lift and 30's.

Yeah they will be made for the ppl running 3" body lift and then don't need to worry about the guard clearance

His hand would only be 5" wide, so no way can these add 5" per side wider than standard flares

EDIT: It's written a bit clearer on their website, each flare is 5" wide, standard flare is 2.5"

so things arrived. not bolted up yet but.
they are wide. really wide. plastic parachutes.
not absolutely convinced bolting them up is a good idea, their TOO wide.
their certainly going to catch /push more wind. they will also need trimming on the inner plastic lip, which is the full 2.5" wide (see bottom pic)

Looks better than expected, the pics on their website don't look as good. Nice bit of extra space behind the front tyre.
