Has anyone heard of these engines? Isuzu 4EE1 engine.

If so can you tell me what they come from and if you have any experiences with them. Apparently they are fairly good in the weight department, are quite tough and will fit in the Jimny with an adapter plate.

I think you'll have issues getting it approved as the motor is too old for your car. The later 4EE2 could be a contender (IF you can find one and make it work)

Ok thanks I will look for a later motor and see if the adapter will still work

It's not just the adaptor that will be the issue. The 4EE2 is common rail so you'll have lots of wiring to contend with. Good luck tho!
