In the base of the throttle body/float casting, near the nozzle.

My memory is being stretched!

The one in the packet looks more like the check valve one than other. I can't remember where the other goes... :(

I take it this isn't the "fuel miser" brand kit?

Yeah the fuel miser kit sucks in its bit hey? hey don't even give you a new foam float meanwhile all the american brand kits often come with brass floats.

I'd say two of the identical sized o ring are either a gaskt for 34 (fuel inlet) or possibly for the two bolts to access the fuel jets through the float bowl.

Make sure to keep all the old ones in a small tupperware container or mint tin for spares in the event you decide to pull your carb apart in the field :)

Its just a kit of ebay.. all kits looked the same,

Two o-rings?? :S

I dont know what the two new ball barings are for... also 1 o-ring is for that part where the spring was missing, where would the other o-ring go?

Could be.... looks like you might be putting it where it looks most useful... it could even be spare. So long as there's O rings in good condition where they should be, you'll be fine.

You nearly done yet :P

So got the carby back together. But same issue as before I rebuilt the carby..
Have to pour carby cleaner down the carby to keep it running..

I can rev the shit house out of it (5k plus revs?) And it will keep reving. But as soon as I let the throttle off, it dies...

checked spark and all sparks are very strong. Unsure where to go from here :/

Did you drop that float height down the 7mm? As it sits currently the fuel level will be very low and cause it to run lean/not at all. In general the float is usually set to be parallel with the top part of the carb body.

did you wind the idle jet out? How much is the Hot idle screwed in (different screw to idle)

If you have a friend with a sierra put the carb on their car. Then you can pretty much rule on whether the carb is the problem.

IMO most "carby" problems are the carby getting the blame for other factors playing up.

i agree but if we can establish the carby is definately rebuilt correct and in running shape we can eliminate it and move on with the trouble shooting

Oh I wasn't saying that to contradict your advice.... if anything it goes together.

Its just a process of elimination, he's put everything back in, blasted all the circuits, set float height, made sure the fuel cut solenoid and idle jet are all good.... not much left in the carb itself.

Samwich at the front of the factory service manual(s) you downloaded there i a Troubleshooting section. Read through it and check everything in your car. (the how info should be in relevant catergory of the manual)
Get hold of a compression gauge to check the 4 cylinders.
Check your sparkplugs (in fact replace them)

Until you get it idling (even at 2000rpm) its hard to use a vacuum gauge which can give you info on engine condition.

Also put your battery on a charger as i'm sure by now its in a weak state and that doesn't help if your ignition system happens to not be getting juice from alternator etc
Fully charged it should read 13.1v (or close to)

That generally indicates that you still have a fuel related problem, not spark nor compression. Are you sure your idle solenoid is powered and working? Ie does it click when the ignition is on? Also that o-ring has nothing to do with the check valve assembly in your pic. Where did you end up putting it? Its either #55 on the sheet, goes on the idle solenoid or is a spare. Also what condition is the fuel pump in?

also take the lid off the fuel tank, is there a sucking sound indicating vapour lock?

If there is plenty of fuel in the fuel bowl it should still idle for a minute or so till it runs dry
