G'day champ, this doesn't work for either pos or neg I believe and is an illegal way to wire up a forward facing auxiliary light. So in short its a good example of how to wire up a relay, but a bad way to do lighting. Pezz put up an awesome diagram.

OK, now I said I would, and I currently need to top up my good karma... after clearly annoying someone myself. It's a 1993 Land Rover Discovery. It is a 2 door, it has a 200TDI engine, has an LT77 5 speed box, and an LT230 transfer case. The diffs are top of the range Rover junk (see what I did there....lol) with 10 spline shafts and spiral bevel diff gears. It was $5k, and I bought it 2 years ago, have probably spent another $1-1.5k on it since then doing timing belt, water pump, radiator, assorted engine bay plumbing and other small jobs. It's a great car, and I am slightly in love with its seating and ergonomics..... and yes I really have named it Matilda! But it's not a Suzuki and turbo lag sucks arse...

It's both. Post too much irrelevant stuff everywhere. Chat sections are open slather 99% of the time though, so go for your life there (the 1% you'll just have to figure out).

Jumping into tech and build threads that you have had nothing to do with thus far and telling 4 people in the thread that's great, wonderful, awesome car or whatever is permissible only up to a certain level; you seem to do it excessively. I see builds on this forum and others that I think are bloody awesome, but I don't always comment (I probably comment less than most on things like this, so am not the best gauge). Commenting on some of them is cool and encourages people to post, but commenting on all of them is a bit weird and you look like a stalker or post whore or something. Definitely get involved in trips threads if you plan on going, if you're not going its often best to leave them, except for post trip photo commentary which is generally acceptable.

Also take note of what questions you ask, and add that thread to your favourites or something. Asking that question once every month has the same off-putting effect to people. People have a nana on here when different people ask the same question again and again (that's not ideal behaviour either), but the same person asking the same question is worse and will genuinely drive people mad.

While we are at it, PMing. I think I've mentioned this before but your bulk PMing of numerous people the same question repeatedly is actually worse than any posting habits. This also applies to texting people random car questions at odd times of the day, then asking them the same question next week.

I'll say this again, get out there wheel more, inter-nerd less. Read some books and online literature on how things you are interested in work, and come back here armed with some real experience and knowledge yourself. A few months back I started taking an interest in how to go about coiling a car (future plan). I started by reading some internet threads which gave me some good summary ideas, then I pulled out some thick text books, and got all carried away. Next step was modeling the geometry of my Land Rover and the Jeep to give some feel of the theoretical numbers relative to a real world product I know. Only after that do I feel even slightly enough qualified to ask questions in a thread about suspension geometry; but I'm still a total noob really.

Yes fighting is crap. Well argued debate over a subject can be good and healthy though!

Anyway, it's 9:15 and my brain is fried...
