had a search but can't see a definitive answer.

will 6.5 inch speakers fit in the rear speaker holes of a jimny without any cutting etc ? i know that 5 1/4 will, but not sure if anyone has successfully fitted 6.5s. thanks.

If jimnys have enough space between the trim panel and where the speaker mounts you could do something like this.

If your Jimny goes anywhere near water I would suggest against MDF as an option, however. I made that mistake back when I was 19.

Sorry mate, no chance.
And the max spacer you could use would be about 10mm, the edge of my speakers closest to the seat belt just touches the plastic side panel.

Gotta trim it.

Just checked, mine are 6" and I had to trim a bit to make them fit.

If you clever you could maybe make a wedge shaped spacer, there is a bit of room behind the trim closer to the back seats.

thanks again pete, i'd rather just chuck in the correct size than chop stuff up back there for music so will stick with the 5 1/4".

Could always customise the plastic trim and fibreglass it to hold the speaker. Look at "customaudiofabrication" on YouTube. You'll spend hours watching his vids but get some awesome ideas too ;)
