I have two near new coil packs on my old 1.3 that's sitting under the house. My 1.8 is experiencing a dead spot on gentle take offs after idling for a couple of minutes and I want to try swapping the coils. OEM coil packs between the two engines have a different part number but externally look the same. Does anybody know if they're actually different or where I could find specs on both?

Hi zukenutter,

I ran the standard jimny coils and leads for about a month after I did my conversion. I've since changed to the 1.8 liana coils and they have been in the car for over 3 months now. I noticed no difference between them. I changed because the liana ones were only recently replaced when I bought my liana to use for the conversion and I had driven the liana and knew it was all good.

Thanks Dave. I wonder why they have different part numbers. I'll swap they and see how it goes.

In the meantime if anybody knows of any difference, e.g.; output etc. please let me know.

Think you will find the only difference is in the design of the "probe"

Cheers guys.
Losfer, by probe do you mean the lead that comes directly off the bottom of the coil?

I didn't pay much attention to the probe but seemed the same, can't think of why it would be different though. What makes you think it would be different?… Not being a smart arse, just wondering.
