I bought some new rubber seals for the 4 bolts which hold the rocker cover on. The engine is a G16A 8V. The original ones are starting to leak oil. I assume it's them as I can't see how else the oil is appearing on top of the rocker cover.

I undid one of the 4 long bolts holding the rocker cover on but it doesn't come all the way out. Do I need to pull it harder and it will come out seal and all or do I need to pull the whole rocker cover off to replace these seals? In which case I will probably need a new gasket.

If I need a new gasket, do I need to use any gasket goo stuff when putting it back together?

you dont need to take the rocker cover off to replace those 4 seals. When you put them back in make sure the bolts are perfectly vertical i have in the pass thought i stripped the threads cause the bolt would not catch. Was actually just missing the hole and couldnt tell

OK thanks for that. So I just use a screwdriver and wedge the seal out and the bolt should come all the way out?

shoud be able to pull it out by pushing down on the valve cover with one hand and pulling the bolt with the other. pliers wil hel remove the seal if it stays there
