Hello forum,
I am about to change the oil and oil filter on my 1997 Sierra SJ80 and i would like to know the best stuff for my car.
1. Are the Ryco filters from Super Cheap reliable? - If so which is the best model my my SJ80. Do the different sizes help oil consumption? The Z125 looks smaller than my previous filter.. I think Z172, Z416, Z418, etc are other compatible filters. - If not am i better off buying a Sakura or Suzuki Genuine filter off Suzistore. Any advantages/disadvantages?
2. What oil grade should i be replacing mine with. I have heard 10W40, although on my service sticker it says 15W40. -Whats the difference and which is best?
Sorry for such a noob question, just want to know I'm putting the right stuff into my beloved SJ80.
Cheers tzuukk.

- If not am i better off buying a Sakura or Suzuki Genuine filter off Suzistore. Any advantages/disadvantages? NO ADVANTAGES

DEPENDS ON THE TEMPERATURE RANGE WHERE YOU LIVE. I'VE USED CASTROL RX SUPER (15W40) IN ALL MY CARS FOR MANY YEARS, MAINLY SO I CAN BUY 20 LITRE DRUMS AND I CAN PUT INTO BOTH MY DIESEL AND PETROL ENGINES. I'LL BE PUTTING THAT INTO MY SIERRA.
Sorry for such a noob question, just want to know I'm putting the right stuff into my beloved SJ80. PROBABLY OVERKILL, BUT I ALWAYS CHANGE OIL AT 5000KM AND FILTERS AT 10,000KM IN ALL MY CARS. ENGINES THRIVE ON FRESH OIL.

^ all correct.
I use 10w40 and a ryco filter. I change it every 10k but change it whenever your paranoia kicks in.
