possibly a worn Hub, thats why i had to re do mine. maybe pull the locking ring off a try tighten them up a little bit more? or pull the hub off and get someone to press the bearing anymore into place?

assuming you used decent bearings?

Thanks for the reply. I tried tightening the cap some more but couldn't get it the next screw hole. What gets worn out in a hub? It feels to me like the bearing has the play in it rather that the hub having a problem. Took it to an engineering shop the first time to press it in so I would assume they put it in far enough, might take it back to them though. I used a bearing from eBay that cost $50 what is your definition of decent, I would have thought anything would last longer than a week

well all I know is that the same thing happened with mine, put a new hub on and its great. the bearing was really easy to press into the old hub. Sorry i thought you mean you put the bearing in with a hammer and punch.

anything that has a bit of reputation and background i guess, i bought mine of "weaves" an AZ member (the bearing man, works at a bearing shop) so i know its a decent bearing. but anything that is Chinese is going to be a lower std of bearing.

are you sure its the bearing thats got the play? not something that hasnt been tightened up correctly (lower strut mount ect)

For bearings, go to Allied bearings

http://www.alliedbearings.com.au/datasheets/suzuki

Front Bearing kit for a vit are $56.00 -- Everything you need.

Pretty cheap, and good quality.

I'm doing my bearings this week, as there's a grinding in the front left....Am using a small press from supercheap...

Just an update for anyone struggling.

I did my bearings on the weekend. Used a 6Tonne press, but I couldn't get the inner race out.
Took it to the shop and they had a 20T press.
One race came out with some force the other wouldn't come out with the 20T press. So we had to heat it up with an oxy, then it snapped out much easier.

The new race went in quite easily after that , but just a word of warning, that sometimes a 6T press isn't strong enough....

Cheers.

I know this is an old thread but I thought I might update it for people who still don't know.
The wheel bearings are a Cassette double taper type wheel bearing (new ones may be just ball bearing type) so they need to be done up tight.
That'll be the reason why they didn't last longer then a week.
You'll need the wheel bearing nut tool and will need to torque it up to 170 - 250 N-m or 123 - 180 ft-lb
No further adjustment is required and they should have no play in them.
