Hi Guys,

My friend just failed her RWC. The inspector said the springs had been "fiddled with" as they're not retained at the top. I'm no Jim expert but from looking at pics and the workshop manual they aren't retained when stock, correct?

It's currently running lifted springs and I was hoping it would get through RWC before adding the castor corrected radius arms as I thought that would be what was frowned upon......

Nope not retained at all. The shock stops the spring falling out

Thanks shep. I thought the guy must have had his facts wrong. He also pinged an exhaust that has all standard mounts but can be "moved" by hand....

Yep springs are definitely not retained and exhaust can be moved by hand. Take it somewhere else and ask for your money back.

Thanks Guys. Yeah I had to laugh when I heard the exhaust one. I just wanted to check off the spring retainer before saying anything. I think he was just taking advantage of her. I'll call up and make a complaint.
