I have mentioned that at least twice.

I still don't think it's a practical conversion, but at least it's possible.

The AHU (electronic) motors are the only ones we get here and they require the instrument cluster/immobiliser etc to be wired in, along with pulley mods and a bunch of other stuff that involves importing parts from a market that received the mechanical pump motors.

Importing a mechanical pump to convert the AHU motor to avoid all the wiring hassles would be at least a $2K job.

Considering written off TDI caddies and Golfs sell for upwards of $6K, it just doesn't make any sense. A G16B provides ample performance and acceptable fuel economy, all but bolts in, and is about 1/5 the conversion cost.

Most likely does. In the scheme of turd polishing and throwing money away though, what's a custom exhaust manifold?

this thread had some good tech in it. yet like all the other diesel threads, it ran out of puff. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=31418&hilit=diesel+sierra

If you did get a motor and transaxle in, you'd have to keep the front hubs locked in and run it as an AWD, due to the open diff in the transaxle, you'd also loose your low range
