Ok so to the informed. how much pressure/flow does a hydro pump need to pump to run Full hydro steering? will the average pajero pump keep up? and how much power is it likely to sap from an engine? will it be a huge amount more than normal power steering?

I would only be looking at running a 6 inch ram

6 inch by what diameter? Shouldn't be much greater sap from the engine than normal power steering.

This and the other two parts will give you heaps of information: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavist ... _Steering/

1.5 is pretty small, you won't have a huge amount of power.

Matching your valve to the ram is more important than the pump which can be changed out later with no effect to the rest of the system.
