Hi guys my Jimny has developed a problem or it could have been there when I got it (I haven't driven it all that much since I got it but yesterday I took it of road for the first time and after about 20min of crawling the motor shuts down and you have to wait for it to cool for like 15 min before it will restart sort of like when the vn Commodores had a faulty crank angle sensor
Does anyone know what the fix is for it the motor has like 260 000km on it and is very tired only about 110psi in the cly's a wet test beings it up to about 135 so I know throngs are stuffed and I'm got my to swap it out for a baleno motor soon but need to know if the problem is related to the low comp or a sensor that is getting to hot.

The cam position sensor was always an issue on the g13bb Jimnys. Temporary cut out and stopping is common and can be fixed with a new sensor.

Is the baleno one the same?

I don't know if the Baleno CPS causes issues, but It's definitely not the same part.

Baleno cam position sensor can be swapped with a jimny one, and will work.
The baleno crank position sensor is different/odd as jimny doesnt use one.

However, It may be similar to a jimny speed sensor on xfer case.

I thought the jimny had a different drive on the back of the cam - didn't grey ghost have to swap his baleno cam for a Jimny one in order to run Jimny injection?

The flags on the cam are different but the housing and sensor are similar if not the same. I used the Jimny sensor and housing in my swap because the baleno sensor had been whacked by the wrecker. I think I still have it lying around though.. Will check Monday, and get some measurements.

steve i had to change the cam because i originally had a dizzy baleno, cam sensors are the same
