Hello All,

I have just joined the Suzuki club with a 2002 Jimny JX fully stock.

Came from a 2004 toyota hilux SR5 3lt turbo diesel, Great bus and awesome machine but down sized as not using it as much as should be so got a cheaper zook that can take me to the beach and daily driver when i am home, FIFO you see.

Just bought it unregistered with 109k on the clock so doing a few things to get it across the pits

List of jobs
New exhaust (old one almost rusted out and cat making funny sounds when higher in the revs)
New front window (too many stone chips)
New front wheel bearings and swivel hub seals (slight leak and looks a bit worn)
Respray the underbody as a bit rusty

One concern is the engine light is one constantly but looking through the forum it could be the CAT that is nackered and a new exhaust should fix it.

Tried the CEL flash thing and looks like i get code 11 but i have no idea what that means so if exhaust doesn't fix it the mechanic i shall go.

Good forum you have here guys, really great place to research faults and potential upgrades

welcome to AZ mate =)

you looking to sneak any mods in when you're fixing it up, or just going to cross the roadworthy bridge first ?

I will be crossing the roadworthy bridge first and then slowly sneek mod past the wife.

first mod will be remove seats in the back and put a level floor in for the dog and dive gear

i built a floor for the back of my van a while back. used 3 ply as it's lighter & stronger than MDF, easy to cover in carpet too.

I was thinking marine ply and marine carpet as I will have wet dive gear going in the back.
