i've got a 97 coily which this week broke the rear diff, as it is my daily driver and i am fairly broke at the moment my mate suggested we weld it (as in lock it). he has done other cars before but never a zook so i thought that i would see if anyone else has tried this and if so what issues you may have encountered? i should add that this would only be a temporary mod (3-6 months) until i can afford another.

Dont do welded diffs on daily driver are a bad mix find a cheap second hand center to get you by. More than likely you will break an axle which will cost you more money.

put an ad in the wanted section. for what you'd pay for one off here plus postage to your side of the world you'll still save a heap of coin.

i agree 550 is way too high but this is perth after all, when you are so isolated wreckers think they can charge what they feel.
