Hi, Can anyone tell me the length of the factory Suzuki Jimny springs? The reason I ask is because the laws here where I live (Queensland) state that 2 thirds of the original suspension travel must be maintained in either direction, and when it comes to tyres they can not be increased by anymore than 50mm in diameter.
So, I'm wanting to know for my state, what is the largest legal lift and tyres I can have.
Thanks Nick

75mm of suspension and tyre without having to have a lane change test and formal certification (Light vehicle 19.1 - that's without reading the sub-section documents) so would have to take your word on the 2/3 suspension travel part I'll grab a measurement off my stock springs tomorrow morning for you OME kit is 40mm kit if you want to play it safe, EFS kits and others are the full 50mm + come with castor corrected bushes. technically the popular for jimny 235 x 75 r15 tyre is 65.5mm bigger in diameter than standard (online calculator) 40mm + 235 x 75 = 72.75 50mm + 235 x 75 = 82.75 gordonvale as in gordonvale near cairns? - if so you got nothing to worry about - just don't stand out too much, there are so many knobs up here with 57" tyres on their fully sick hilux's and cruises that a little jimny never gets hassled (mareeba anyway - I never get hassled and my tyres hang out of the guards about an good inch) having said all that - you probably allready know the majority of that info.

So in total, tyres and suspension comined, I can only have 75mm of lift from standard height?

Same for your rig nick, looks to be substantially less abused than mine always good to know another owner up this way. I think its stekky (as known on this forum) in atherton - he knows his zooks. I run a lot of my dumb mod ideas past him. I have also seen a serious jimny a few times near cairns, white with xrox bar with at least 3" of lift, would be nice to know who has got that one.
