Hey guys,

So I'm looking to get some all terrains most likely 215/75R15 BFGoodrich's, but realise that i will will need lift, if i don't want too damage them.

Want it to be easy with no problems so don't want more that 2' was going to get OME from ARB and get them to do the fitting etc. but they are prty expenise, are OME good? does anyone recommend another brand that is cheaper yet just as good?

Cheers,
Cam

Pretty with EFS and fitting isn't hard!

A slab of beer is what it cost me to for a mate to show me how to do the front and I did the back plus you learn and its a hell of a lot cheaper!

Looked up the proper Jimny specs, says no more than 205 with stock suspension, probably just stick to that, some people have said when turning they get issues with 215's on stock

My suspension has sagged a bit, as the car is always loaded up.

I had my km2's on for 2 years, the car is a daily it spends most of its time at the shopping centre and shes never had a problem with steering, the only problem I ever found is when I hit the sandy ruts hard at speed to get through the big 33" bog holes, They would just touch the inner wheel wells. But that's got nothing to do with lift that's bump stop spacing, but of course lift would help. The only reason why I'm going away from stock lift and 215's is that I don't want to do a massive guard chop, other wise it would be stock lift, guard chop, 31's, bump stop spaces, coil retainers and longer shocks.

Yeah true that, was origionally tempted just to get 215's without suspension, but will eventually get lift, so might aswell get it all done at once haha

a lot of guys on here rave about dobinsons springs & shocks, can order them through the supercheap auto site in the parts section.

i'd recommend staying clear of king springs & ultra king shocks (basically the ebay set), i have them & the ride is terribly harsh, will no doubt swap it all out one day.

i think that second jimny may also have 215/75/15 tyres too. the lift is good, with the tyres as well it's great.

i've got before/after type pics in my rig thread if you want a look:

Do some research on the lifts, OME are very soft rated spring, and your front end would sag with the bull bar. Just a heads up.

Oh really? I basically want a kit that will be easy, don't want to be adding spacers or anything, I don't know enough about mechanics to start playing around with my jim too much haha

If i ended up ordering a kit of the net, how would i get them fitted if i didn't want to do myself? would any mechanic be able to do it?

edit: or could always go with a suspension company i guess!

any mechanic will be able to fit it, but they're dead easy to do (recommend spring compressors & a mate's help though).

this was taken this morning next to a newer model than mine;

So ended up going with the Dobinson lift kit! found a suspension company in Perth that does them :D

Decided to get them fitted, prefer to pay the extra few hundred for a proper job than me making a mess of it haha!

edit: going to take a few weeks though for kit to come in :(

Thinking about some BFG all terrains, bobjane is doing them for 199ea fitted and everything, which is a prty decent price i think!

In wa so dont deal with much mud, mostly will be sand and whatnot, would i loose any more power having muddies over all terrains? they do look better! but assume they are also a bit more noisey on the road haha

the dynapros are quiet, my thinking with the MTs is that the tyres are still pretty narrow, so the extra grip couldn't hurt.

& yeah lost some power with the tyres, but i think that it'd be no real different going to ATs over MTs, but can't honestly say.

Yeah true, got a few weeks to decide so might have a good browse, bros have had good experiences with BFG AT's (not on jim's though), seem like a good tyre that you dont have to worry about. But yeah will look into your dynapros haha
