Hey looking for some more help.

Just did the water pump 9 the zook while doing I notice a build up of oil around where the AC mount is.

After completing the water pump and cleaning the oil goo.

I started the zook and it has started dribbling out oil quite fast.
And there is a nocking noise I can't quite find sounds like a rock in the carby *(sounds like)*. but has got me worried.

As a general rule with g13"s whenever you take the front cover off to do water pump or timing belt or seals you replace the lot.

Oil leak is most likely the crank seal.

All good I have a voucher for rip Co so they can fuck it up a few times then I will get the kit haha.

Having said that it's only 40 for 2 seals and belt.

Don't know about the tensioner. For now.

Thanks for the help guys

To me though it looks like around the crank seal and around the plastic timing cover it looks pretty clean?

Sure its not leaking from the sump gasket? or from the oil filter?

Just that oil up behind the engine mount there, how did that come from the front crank seal?

I'd be cleaning it all off with degrease, letting it dry and watching it whilst someone else starts the engine.

FYI - even genuine seals on the g13bb tend to "walk" out... Mine developed a leak after about 2 years, suzistore replaced it and turned it over and it blew out immediately when they tested it, so they replaced it again and siliconed it in (not with silicone, using something else, gasket goo maybe?) Let it set then tried again and its been fine since. They mentioned it happens A LOT with these motors and they use the sealer on all jobs now to be sure.

Also - Mine looked like the sump gasket was leaking. The oil was going down the inside of the timing cover then being dragged back while driving.

Okay so timing belt off and cleaned out.

This is oil residue on the rubber seal of the timing belt cover.

So it appears that the leak is coming from somewhere behind the hex bolt to the right of the Phillips head bolt

From above
You can see the oil build up here

*other brown crap to the left is goo from water pump*

If that's the case it looks like the oil pump cover gasket is leaking

That would explain the consistent floe while the engine is running also.

Will have to hit up repco.

Should I get a new oil pump while I'm at it?
