G'day, pulled the LHF hub off, cleaned and greased it so it locks and unlocks freely without having to get a vice grip out. I did notice that there was silicone around the gasket of it, which I removed.

Went to the do the drivers side which has been permanently locked since I got the thing  and it too had silicone around the outside (although the gasket was in good condition). When I opened it up, it was a real mess. Silicone over everything, and the springs were stretched. I now know why it was stuck! Try as I might I couldn't salvage the springs that clip it together, and have called Suziworld to source a replacement.

I was wondering if there might be any rebuild kits that would contain these parts? Save me having to buy a whole new hub?

Might be a stupid question, but it seems like it would be something that someone might make a kit for?

Cheers

If you have the very common AISIN hubs you can pull bits out of hilux or 4runner or lots of other japanese 4wd's.

I reckon Toyota would sell a kit or maybe terrain tamer.
