i've done a search & posted asking but can someone please take a look at this & tell me if this is the correct engine to convert my G13BB jimny to a 1.6:

Image

i've messaged the seller & asked if it has the green injectors, he also lists it as a 1.5 litre, but i'm guessing this is an error, or are there 1.5 litre engines out there ?

also, what is the story with the starter motor, i've read about needing a particular starter motor but i can't find any definitive info. would like to work all this out before buying. thanks.

Suzuki did use a G15 engine in some JDM Balenos (Cultus Crescent) so it could be a 1.5.

argh, i hope not, it's $450, 95,000ks & has warranty. seems like a good buy if it's the correct engine.

just received a reply from him, sounds like fordem might be on the money that it's a JDM 1.5ltr & not the G16BB. he has 2 other balenos that are aussie variants so have asked about them. wait & see what he says but this particular engine had my interest as the kilometres were quite low & so was the price.

1.5 can't be that much different can it?
Injectors are easy to change.
Bell housing will be 1.3 or 1.6 (I'd bet 1.6) likewise the exhaust side of the head.

IIRC the G15 has the same bore as the G16 but just has ~5mm shorter stroke. Should be a tad more rev happy than the 16

one thing i'm keen on with the G16BB is that its peak power is only around 4,000rpm which i think would probably be better for off roading.
