Alright, I've tried searching, but all the threads I've found are either old as fuck or don't really answer my question(s).

Just wondering what the options are for a reece hitch bar for a Jimny (06), I know some have got one through ARB, but would really love some pictures to see how low they sit, as my main desire for replacing the tongue style one is to improve my exit angle and to provide a good recovery point for the rear.

Was considering going down the custom pathway and getting one made up that sits nice and high, but really not to sure on the legalites and the ADR's for towbars and custom work, and don't really feel like risking it in case something DOES go wrong, or I need to ever get the car inspected ect. Could anyone shed some light in this dept?

Cheers
-Harry

The factory 06 towbar should be a Hayman Reece style. Should be a fraction of the cost too

So contact a dealer? The one on mine is a "Parkland Tow-bars" piece of shit, definitely not a HR style, I assume the previous owner must have had it installed when needed to tow something, and just went for the most budget one he could get.

Do you have a pic of the factory one?

The haymon reese receiver style towbar for jimnys is a shit thing, seriously so poorly made that I will never by a HR product again.

Don't waste your money on one, I wish that I didn't

What would your recommendation be? I would just love to take out the tow-ball when not needed, put a recovery hook in ect.

Take the tongue off, it's only two bolts.
