So what's everyone's preference of product?

Interior plastic

After our road trip the poor little Sx4 is in need of love. I've typically used meguiars products in the past but am well out of the shiny car loop.

My detailing cupboard is mostly Meguiars for polish and wax, I use Armour All wash n wax carwash (lol) and turtle wax interior spray for the dash/door cards etc. oh If you have leather trim the Meguiars Lether wipes work a treat aswell.

303 Protectant for the inside

Add a clay bar and maybe a paint cleaner between wash and wax, will do more for the paint than anything else.

Mequiars seems unloved by the detail freaks but its probably a hipster thing, ive got some of that and some Mothers, whatever is better value at the time.

Driven VRL for interior plastics, rubber, leather, etc, and it's great to use on exterior rubber or plastics. I coat my window seals in it, helps reduce UV damage.

Clay bar, followed by Prima Amigo if there's scratches etc.. Driven marine polish to finish off.

After that when I wash it I finish off with Driven a Quick Detail Spray (comes in a concentrate, makes heaps), removes surface contaminants and brings it up great every time

Another forum I use from time to time has a detailing Q&A thread. Pretty sure they rate Meguiars on there and clay bars are sworn by too.

I use Meguiars wax on my road car, it seems to work great.

I've heard bad things about Armorall for the interior. Now I just use a damp rag.

I have two detailers at work, I just give them my car and it comes back clean and shiney

I usually use Armor All wash and wax and a chamois, Also I always use a meguires sheep skin wash mit.

For a full clean I use Meguires clay block, just with water not the detailer spray that it comes with, Polymer liquid polish and hard wax then give it a wipe down with the quick detailer spray.

For the wheels I use Armorall Wheel cleaner, It's the only one I've found that doesn't leave a rainbow type slimy residue on alloy. spray on, give it a quick wipe and hose off. Tyres the CRC foaming detailer works well.

I use Turtle Wax because I bought an all in one car wash pack that was decent value for money at the time, and have added to it as I go sort of thing, the cleaning draw includes.

Standard Turtle Wax car wash

Turtle Wax Hardshell Wax, Liquid (But will buy the paste when I've used all that)

Turtle Wax Clear Vue glass cleaner

Armour All tyre foam (or Aussie import tyre shine when its on sale at SCA for $1 a can )

Armour All products or Turtle Wax equivalents for the interior.

Other shit includes some no brand metal polish for badges, a glass polish I'm yet to use but hopefully will remove some of the incredibly hard to clean spots.

... Yeah I probably clean my car too much.

Reporting back - I had meguiars wash in the shed.

One of my mates brought over his 'final inspection' deep clean, wax. And glass cleaner.

I had VUPLEX in the shed from bike cleaning for the interior.

the final inspection stuff left any meguiar's products I've used in the past for dead. Needed less of it for a better result. I'm not sold on the clay stick yet, need to do more reading before one touches my car.

When i worked at a well known popular car retail store, i use to upsell mothers and meguiers to customers who were about to buy turtle wax. You would not believe the amount of people that spend more when you tell them that turtle wax is made from real turtles.

A clay bar just gets rid of all the shit stuck in the clear coat so to say, good if your paint is not in the best condition and feels "rough" after a wax rather than glossy (If that makes sense). There isn't any risk of removing clear coat like a cut or heavy polish can, so if you have the time to learn how to do it its worth it.

You are reading the wrong places then, hands down best thing you can do!

10 mins with one and my paint is a smooth as glass, it pulls out all the stuff that damages the paint long term that paint cleaners dont remove.

yeah i know the tungsten bit your talking about.

have seen the old school single side razor blade do an amazing job in the right hands, have also seen said razor blade cut an awesome axe wound in the hand on said spray painter when masking up hung over.

pretty sure that was the same day i learnt that superglue saves waiting in ER for 4hrs to be stitched up, we all reckon the guy used to work saturdays so he didn't have 2 days of solvent withdrawals aka solvent rage.

got kicked out of the booth in his early 40's for lack of lung capacity.
