Having a few issues with stalling once the car is hot as soon as you put the clutch in so thought I would start by replacing all the vacuum lines and cleaning the fuel cut off solenoid. When I pulled the solenoid out the o-ring was missing, had a bit of a fish around up the port it came out of in case it came off when I removed it but didn't manage to find the o-ring so I figured it wasn't there to start with. Put it back in wired it up and hit the key and it ran and idled fine.
What happens if the o-ring is not replaced? I don't want to come out and find a big puddle of fuel under the car in the morning. Could this be the problem I had with stalling when it got hot.
I should mention the stalling only happened after restarting from a 10 minute stop for my son to show his mates the new car, Previously I had driven about 40kms with no issues stopping and accelerating away from lights etc
Appreciate any help........................anyone interested in rebuilding the carb for me for a few bucks?
If you're referring to the solenoid near the top of the carb throat (I know it as the anti-dieseling solenoid) - I don't recall any O-rings - all it does is block an air passage in the carb so there will be no fuel leakage, and that was probably not the cause of the engine stalling - if it was, it would have stalled as soon as you took your foot off the gas.

A new o ring comes in a carby kit. But the shop that installed the kit lost both of mine. I bought a o ring kit from supercheap and used that. When i had carby problems i removed this fuel cut off switch and put a bolt in there. Over runs now and again but not every time.

Excuse my ignorance but what doe it over run mean? Is it safe to run the thing without the fuel cutoff solenoid?
