Hey guys
After anyone who has done the g16b conversion in the Sierra, I am half way through the project and have just recently started a new job and now don't have the time or patience to finish it.
If anyone knows someone or even knows a mechanic that has had experience with the conversion please let me know.

I'm located North of the river and will have to be mobile.

Cheers for the replys guys, I've tried the Suzi store before and they charge $100 an hour so was hoping to find somewhere a little cheaper, but they will have the most knowledge on the conversion so might end up being the best option. Also was hoping for someone more mobile, will give MrRocky a PM and see if he can help me out.

$100/hr is pretty good for a specialised service performed by a specialist - my work charges out time at $150/hr. When i'm freelancing my rate has been as high as $300/hr.

Standard mechanic is up to around $80 or so these days.

100/hr for someone who knows what there doing = cheaper as less hours spent figureing things out or 80/hr for someone who doesnt know what there doing but spends twice as long wondering how to remove things and put things back. I know with the transmision first time clutch cost 850 in labour alone and he didnt want to see it again. few years alter 740 in total. Trans swap with transfer swap + Flywheel machine + fluids, various nuts and bolts etc etc etc and did it in two days compared to 3 just for the clutch. He had the trans off in 2 hours and thats working on other cars at the same time

I always ask for a rough quote that way if they go over they tend to stick to around the price they quoted.

Suzishop south but they do upgrades etc. Some wreckers that do suzuki's as well have workshops that are happy to have business they usualy charge around 80 a hour.

How far along are you and what model/year g16b is it.
I may be able to do some work for you
As a general price including wiring an g16b baleno i have done a few for the $1500 mark with you supplying the parts.
Just remember there is alot of work to get a nice tidy finish with no issues after its done.
There is a reason the shops in perth charge 5-7.5k
I do it because i enjoy it but no one works for free especially when i earn $50phr doing my regular job
Others can say what they want but i dont see anyone else raising there hand

Cheers mick there isn't really a lot that needs to be done just a lot of fidly things, the engine is out of a 1994 vitara. The engine is complete and in the car mostly connected up and wiring harness has been cut down. I will PM you more details.

To everyone else thanks for the info I do agree $100 an hour is not much for a specialist that has had a lot of experience doing this conversion that will be plan b I think.

SuziStore would be my choice over SuzukiShop if i needed anything done on my car

In saying that, i think Mick has done about 5 conversions so far and knows how to wire them properly and the little problems that may arise
$1500 isn't too bad when you really think about it considering an autosparkie charged me over $800 for my first conversion

Geez I got out cheap paying my auto sparkie $300 to do 80% of the wiring for my g16b conversion

By the time you unpick and strip the loom chop all the junk out, label and make it pretty again its 5hrs at least
