Seeing if anything is out there. will take front cuts, or whole xl7 cars at the right price.

Brisbane but will look at shipping.

would consider swaps for j20 setup for sierra/lj

I'm probably stating the bleeding obvious, so I assume you've seen the XL7 being wrecked that's been on gumtree for a while? Located in Browns Plains, 57,xxx on the clock, motor looks dusty as all hell though so it might have been sitting in a yard for a bit.

Later model H27's out of JB grand vits seemed to go for considerably less when I was looking. Might be worth chasing one of those instead if its being used in a custom application where you are going to need to sort out wiring etc anyway.

At some point in 2003 on-wards they changed to run a crank angle sensor instead of the camshaft position sensor, and they got the fancy butterfly valve controlled intake manifold for more fasts.

my only concern with a later model motor is the possibility of emobilisers and extra computers to try and bypass.

i'm not really up to speed, but i think that was in the later xl-7's... what ever you buy you'll want to look at doing the chains etc just for piece of mind.

Check to see if it's got the regular gv steel diff rather than the mong XL-7 one & you could make some quick cash back with that one part.

Don't worry what they look like, take a magnet or a knife to scratch it and you'll know if it's steel.

The later steel diffs are just a different design/shape and not worth anything to GV owners looking to upgrade their glass diff.

EDITED: I has the dumb.

Not all xl7s are steel. Autos were still alloy till ~2003.

nope, not the pinion mounts.

i'm talking about the last of the XL-7 that have a completely different front diff... as in it's nothing like the pictures in that thread & is useless to anyone, LHS of the housing bolts to the "banjo" part, it's a funky bit of gear, almost looks like it belongs in a toyota. :?

Christover got sold one as a GV steel diff & had pics of it somewhere on here but it looks like he's deleted them.
