Hayden, they all talk to me you know and like people there are some things they don't tell me, probably why there was no rhino mentioned! What I did get was this LJ 50's last job was in a Sawmill for a logging contractor. That explains the hardwood tailgate, just big enough to hold a chainsaw and a lunchbox up hills and no need to open it on slopes. Apparently a head of a tree landed on it a couple of times, along with the forklift driver who drove by feel and did his own panel beating from the drivers seat.

Darren, Perhaps you have not seen too many LJ's, maybe I should enlighten you?

Hayden, I can remember the 1.0L SIERRA above when it was very tidy like they all were once. A young bloke bought it for his first car, all was going well until he rolled it one night, this changed things dramatically and the care factor hit rock bottom. Wings were clipped severely as rego was cashed in and relegated to farm use only on a typically steep property near where I live. Used for several years running around the farm carrying all sorts of things until it was delivered to my place for parts to help others. The young fellas name is Hayden!

Possibly, but what do they say to you?

Here, look at this one and share what it tells you?

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone can help as this LJ80 is a 1982 model which means that the models must overlap as I have owned 1981 1.0L SIERRA's?
Thanks in advance.

And just to kill the rumour (one way or the other) about the engine fitted to these late model Stockmans (JL80-II), can you put up a photo of the data plate on the left inner guard to show if it had an F8A or F10A. I've always thought the LJ80 had the F8A right to the end of production, but there are a lot of people saying they got the 1.0lt engine. :?:

Hayden, Is there any chance that black one is later than 4/82 (yellow one above) as that is the youngest one I have Seen?

Tony, Coffs Harbour is a fair way from Lightning Ridge! Over the years I have decided the fate of a few SUZUKI's and this is one I would like to see someone restore. Being retired, you could ZOOM over, watch the Sun come up over the ocean, check out the Big Banana and drop in for a cup of Tea! Have added some more photos for you, the previous owner could not remember how many years it has been left sit in the shed for! He said he drove it in and that it was smokey, have not tried to start it but turns over and I have no reason to doubt him.

303zuke, Definitely F8A, in this case F8A 263850 which is quite a high number, someone on here may correct me, but the number is higher than the Vin because F8A motors went in to CARRY's as well. Pretty sure it is the original motor because they would have to be lucky to source a late production motor for a late production STOCKMAN!

It's only 650 k's but then Lightning ridge is 650 K's from anywhere really   - Is there somewhere over there I can One-Way hire a trailer? It would of course be for restore behind the LJ50v (Halfway now) and the LJ50 soft-top (Not started yet but it has good everything except body and I have a good body for a swap) - What are the floors in the front like and How Many $'s are you after?

Hi All,
Tony, on the Coast here we have pretty much all of the trailer hire places that work between Sydney and Brisbane, your problem will be finding one that allows 650 km away drop Off! Perhaps you should be looking closer to home and bring one back for Them? Alternately I could drop the LJ 80 off at a local transport company of your Choice?

As too how much, you know how it works, some Idiot will post up saying LJ's are not worth much!

Don't want much for it, but it may be the last LJ 80 to come into the Country! If you are going to restore one, wouldn't it be better to have some Provenance?

Chester, Thankyou.

303zuke, while we are discussing rumours, here is another:
1.0L SIERRA's were only Hardtops at first as LJ80 STOCKMAN' s were still available as Softtops!

Hi All,
Chester, no hyjack at all, Everyone is welcome to post Here! Your LJ 80 is Sweet!
6/82 is the youngest LJ 80 I have Seen, 8/81 is the earliest Sierra I have owned SJ 40V 101067 Hardtop. So 10 months overlap, not sure why they did That?

Tony, what date in your Softtop?

I've got 4520 12/81. That's less than 1000 built per month.

Hi All,

There has been a bit of discussion about fibreglass LJ bonnets on here, so here is one for FREE so someone can use it as a plug to make a mould. A little rusty, but pretty straight so not much work to build a Plug! Greg 0428 789854

How many do I have is a good question and I get asked regularly, but I never Count them usually because I am busy doing something else. Image[/url]

Hi All,

Yes it has been a while!

Not that long ago but not really recently I helped a bloke with Sierra air conditioning compressor, evaporator and loom as that was all that I had. Anyway another Sierra has come to me missing those parts but it had the condenser and electrical box, the Sierras were different colours and models but I think they are the same system and I am looking to sell them to old mate (can't remember name) if he needs?
