Could also be dirty/corroded contacts on the combination switch. The hazards operate off a separate switch on to of the column.

I'd also check the relay mate, good chance its gone bonkers. Thats the thing that makes it flash. Square or round little module somewhere that clicks. I'd replace it to be sure - often called a 'flasher' believe it or not!

The problem could be in the harards switch - there are 2 sets of contacts in it! The hazard switch has a set of contacts which stop normal indicator operation when the switch is on and obviously these contacts don't get used much. Try working the hazard switch on/off a few times.

I've got the same problem with my sierra. I've replaced my combination switch, my flasher relay got replaced 3 months ago and the fuse is good... It seemed to start playing up couple of weeks ago then when my car broke down (fuel pump relay blew) I used my hazards. 1 week later once the car was fixed no indicators just hazards.... Please help as this is starting to annoy me

masterA is, I think, on the right track with this.
An overwhelming percentage of electrical problems are caused by poor earth connections.
Start tracking down the black wires and locate where they attach to sheet-metal. Be sure that they are all making good contact.
Remember, if you were as old in "car years" as many of our trucks, you would probably be in a rest home...
