Hunting a starter for my Baleno conversion.
Will a starter from a 3 door 1991 G16A JLX Vitara do the job?
Does it need to be from a G16B Vitara?

Cheers
Dave

IIRC G16A and G16B starters are the same.

can't remember the exact code of it, but it's the bosch starter motor (everyone refers to it as the skinny starter).

here's a couple of good threads on bigjimny.com first thread tells you what starter motor (appears to be Bosch 001-112-032):

this thread's just a really clean example of the install:

Cheers.
I just got the speedo out of a '91 vitara wreck, and I'm thinking about buying his starter as well. He's only asking $55. Cheap but the car is 24 years old has been thrashed offroad. Thinking I might buy new for $220 at Bursons. Forgot to ask them what brand they sell. Having a look online that Bosch part number is going for around $450 AUS
