having seen a few airbag approved bars on some new (non-zook) stuff, i recon the only difference is that its been tested. They seem to still be built the same as any other bars, and they mount up the same.

Uneek 4x4 has released a new Jimny winch bar. It sticks out a bit too far for my liking. Jimny's don't have the prettiest faces to begin with, but this one looks kinda like a fat lip.

cool bar the uneek 4x4. but...... still no upper protection no grill or headlight protection hoop or something ...... and most of their bars have some, so why not on the jimmy one I dont like bars that resemble bumpers.... but thats just me still with the xrox on my plans then

I have to admit that the XROX has grown on me over time although I'd fill in the gaps on the wings.

So it seems pretty universal that the Xrox tube bar is hated on. But im not afriad to say, I like it. How do these little cars hold up with an extra 35kg thrown on the front? I already have a fair bit of extra weight - heavy steel wheels and bigger tyres, roof basket, awning, etc. My concern is sand driving etc - is this extra weight going to ruin my drive?

coil spacers to take up the slack or higher rated front spings. the extra air hiting your tyres causes more drag and you loose 1-2L/100k

Ah ok - that makes sense Jezza. My front bumper has been trimmed pretty heavily already, so should not notice much difference there. I have OME suspension at the moment, but perhaps coil spacers still required to compensate for the weight?

That or OME diesel front springs. I had a 12000lb winch and arb 4mmplate winch bar, all up coming in close to 65kg (75 when the winch had cable). The diesel springs were level holding that up.
