I have a 2010 Grand Vitara 2.4 that I bought new. It has a mere 50k on the clock. I have just had to replaced the clutch. I do not do a lot of offroading and when l do it is mostly just on rough grassy surfaces. I generally do not ride the clutch. What l need to know is is this a common fault with NGV's and if there is a heavy duty replacement and where I can get one of these replacements

I'm not sure there's a lot of those GV's around on this forum. I'm sure Exedy or Clutch Industries have a heavy duty version available. Do you know what brand was fitted? Do you do any towing or have a constant load in the vehicle? It does sound like its failed prematurely but I've replaced Hilux clutches at 15,000 so you're doing better

It as a genuine factory Job that failed and I do not do a great deal of towing, maybe just the odd load of rubbish to the tip if I can borrow a trailer.

Any riding or dipping or flaring of the clutch will greatly reduce its life.
Treat the clutch pedal like a light switch. On or off. Nothing in between.

A heavy duty clutch won't last any longer than a standard clutch. It just has more clamping pressure so is less likely to slip.
More clamping usually means a heavier pedal.
