i cracked a cap on my ARB compressor through overtightening a BSP fitting. I repaired mine with JB weld. It's been fine.

Piranha were very helpful. Suggested a trip to ARB because of wanting it done by the weekend. ARB were also very helpful. A new top was supplied. They were happy to instal it, but time contraints means I will do it. They want the old one back for engineers to inspect. I am no engineer, but I can see that the new one (at rear of pic) has a lot more meat around the pressure switch, which is where mine failed. Perhaps if buying a locker only compressor, try to get the upgradeded version.

ARB Pressure switch started leaking through the terminals, very annoying. Thread leaks still happening, will try paste instead of tape. 2nd trip without a working rear locker I miss my auto locker

Is that the chinasoooooooong pressure switch? I've never had an Arb switch leak in almost 25 years.

No. I used the ARB one, but will be fitting the Chinasoong one, and trying thread sealer instead of tape. Only Chinasoong part is the locker activation solenoid bit. Which is only leaking from threads. That will get a sealer, too and a check over.

Interestingly the compressor is working well now, and I haven't done anything yet. Maybe leaked a bit because of the heat? Still going to seal with paste anyway.

Thread sealant is way better than teflon tape. You will wonder why you didnt use the thread sealant before.

Thread paste is so much better than tape. No leaks from any of the joints I used it on. Found a problem with the locker solenoid (Chinasoong part as ARB compressor kit doesn't include one) Nut was on backwards, and not tightened up very well. It worked fine for first few uses, but probably shook loose or just worked loose with temperature changes. So more paste on its mating surface, a washer (as it seemed to lack enough spare thread) and turned round the nut. Had to insert a small bolt and lock nut to stop whole thing turning when trying to move the offending nut. Can't test till I give paste 24 hours to reach its maximum goodness. But I can't see it being a problem.

I replaced the solenoid with an ARB one, which needed a change of the wiring plug. Chinasoong one had a small crack in the tube, which I didn't notice at first. It had stopped working completely.
Then compressor would not turn off at pressure, and ARB pressure switch had a small leak around the terminals. So now have the Chinasoong pressure switch fitted, and all seems good.
Everything seems to work, now, lets hope it passes test of time and abuse.

Compressor is now leak free and working properly. Still have a leak somewhere in locker line. My guess is the diff seals/O-rings. Hoping not the brass line. It is staying locked, but compressor fires up too often. Will probably change the seals in future, but is ok for now.

New seals from ARB were only $8 a pr. Can't complain about that.
Well diff is out now, and seals are well stuffed. Twisted in 2 spots. But it looks like an instal fault by me. All the reassembling in the setting up most likely. Should be one go this time. So no Chinasoong faults, or ARB faults this time. There's also a scratch from pressing the new side bearing on (probably my fault, too). So will clean that up and reassemble more carefully.

Bench test worked great. Better than it was first time around. Takes ages before compressor fires up. Went together much easier, too. Possibly better quality seals, or I just getting better at it? Hopefully get more k's out the new seals. Though they did manage around 3000K and 3 or 4 trips.
