Hi all

after many months of planning, today was the assigned day of fitting up my sierra transfer case using the offroad armoury conversion kit, but ran into a major problem, the WT front prop shaft I have is waaaayy too long. In monleys good tech guide he describes it as a tight fit, but this thing is an inch to long.

Big question - do I actually have a WT front prop or some other thing? and secondly I am attempting to install this thing in the rear and leaving the jimny prop in the front, is this right?

you can see the mount at the far left of the picture, I had to remove the mounting bolts completely and the result is they need to deflect by a full inch before this thing hooks up

Thats doesn't look anything like any Suzuki driveshaft I've ever seen.

Note how all the yokes in those pictures look almost identical. Whilst the yokes on your "WT" shaft look totally different.

I can't help with the required length.

thanks dougy and steve - A picture says a thousand words - I definately do not have a WT, cause the shaft that I have is the same length as the Jimny's one - Is it a coily's?

I'm a bit annoyed because I almost tried to make it look pretty to, painting it all black and blue. anyway, now to try and find a real WT shaft.

In other news I have a random drive shaft for some vehicle for sale/free if someone wants it. I'll happily trade for a WT front drive shaft;)

After some more internet's, it appears to be of Toyota origin, hilux or cruiser. I'm actually going to run the tape measure over it and the jimnys one again cause they look so dam close, just for curiosities sake.

The rear section of my RN106s tainlshaft is about that long and looks like that IIRC.

FWIW a Jimny rear is 660mm compressed and Sierra front is 700mm compressed.

If it is from a cruiser/hilux. (which it well could be) then the spigot on the yoke is 1mm too large to seat in the yoke. Either the yoke or spigot requires machining.
