so when i got the car home and drained the sump 7ltrs of oil came out! I also changed all the filters, fuel pump and spark n leads, it now runs a lot better.
however the car doesn't rev to good so i think i might need to reco the carby? I'm assuming having that much oil in the engine for X amount of days has damaged seals?

What are some simple ways of getting an old engine running better without fully reconditioning it?
any thoughts....

what revs you driving at? with the 1.3s you can sit on 4-5k revs all day long. don't be afraid to use your revs they love it.

Before I changed all my gearing I would sit on 2-3k in town and 4-5k on the high way (5k in 4th on hills if needed, and 4k in 5th @ 100kmh)

that was on 30s I think with 4.16:1 TC gearing I think

was happy reving all day long
