I'm doing a swap into my Sierra and noticed my block is g16a. Did these come as Efi in lwb vits or has it had Efi transplanted on top? Everything seems legit so I'm assuming some 16a's were Efi.

Has anyone done a conversion with the 4 speed auto and deconstructed the loom etc not just swapped everything over to Sierra?

Thanks

Yes there are g16a EFI motors. They are from the Japanese market escudo. They have some differences to the g16b (timing gear tooth profile) but they're effectively the same.

Ok thanks for the info. Good to know if ordering parts etc. Thought I had a 16b until today when I washed it prior to fitting.

It's definitely worth knowing. I did a timing belt on a G16A SOHC EFI years ago and it took a few tries to get the right timing belt.

Dave Pez has an Escudo G16A EFI in his Coily. It was from NZ I think.

We had them in Vitaras as well, they were fitted to the models that had the old Denso EFI system.
