Wheel off, undo the 2 caliper bolts and away you go?

Brakes are a pretty important part of the vehicle, if you don't really know what you're doing I dont think you should be playing around down there..

get a service manual from supercheap. best $40 i ever spent. everyones gotta learn at some point, but with critical stuff like brakes, best to have someone who knows what they're doing to teach you first time round. its very simple once you know what your doing...

The '88 SJ413 FSM is available for download at Ack's FAQ - which should be a cheap and good guide.

I have removed the calipers a number of times to install pads and to refurbish the knuckle joint.

The touchy part is the pad clips and the caliper slides - which should be complete with rubber boots and proper lubrication so they do not bind. These items should be available at the local factors/car parts store.

Use a metal coat hanger bent into a hook to hang the caliper assembly off the upper shock mount to keep from damaging the hydraulic line.
