First the question - is there a difference between the inner & outer CV joint boots?

I have on a shelf here, a bag containing two used (but useable) CJ joint boots, along with unused circlips, retaining straps, grease, etc., based on paint markings (drips of anti corrosive paint from when I painted the front cross member) I assumed these were inner CV boots, I am also supposed to have a new boot, which I cannot find (and which I no doubt will find as soon as I have replaced the punctured outer), so I ordered an outer boot kit, and visually, all three of the boots I have appear identical.

The kit part numbers are different because the contents of the kits are different - the circlips are different - are the boots themselves different?

outer boot is different. Its longer as it needs to handle more angle.

I use universal ones from the local Auto shop. Only about $10 each. Just trip them to the correct size and away ya go.
