hey guys i pulled the plastic surround that clips onto the sills and the folded metal section that holds the plastic on is nearly all together missing
can i just grind it off and dont have the plastic covers? or do i have to get steel folded and remake the missing sections?

Kudos for ripping the rust catcher off, one of the first things most people do.

You can grind the spot welds out, and remove that metal piece.

You can weld in RHS sills etc if its bad, or as an option for sliders etc.
A fair few people have done it.

Yeah mate then sills are ok im just going to drill the welds off like you said and
Body schutz the sills and floor pan I got a few patches to weld in the floor as it is.
Bloody rust.
Doesn't help that the suzi has been living in cow poo for 20 years either
