hey everyone

im new here hope im posting this in the right section.... if not apologies.

well as the topic reads this is my first zook but not my first fourby i previously had a TJ that i dumped bucket loads of money into thing was a weapon! It just drank too much juice though... anyway back on track.

i just recently purchased a 2000 GV v6 auto 4dr.

i have had alot to do with a built up jimny it has a g16a chromolly axles and lockers and all that stuff. so im not new to zooks completely but i am definately new to IFS. so heres my main question to all you people out there with zook knowledge.

how capable is a gv? The IFS really scares the sh*t outa me to be honest lol.
im not intending for it to keep up with my old vehicle by any standard but as long as i can still play around in some rutted hill climbs and rocks ill be happy. oh and the odd river crossing!

i believe the model i purchased has the alloy diff thats prone to bending. what is the best solution to this?
or any other must do mods that you can recommend would be great!??

Also im hoping i can somhow get the rear seats to become level with the boot cargo area?? do they rear seats flip up at all?

First the easy question - there's a latch that holds the rear seat cushions down - there should be a webbing loop near the inner rear corner slide your hand down and feel for it - once you release that, the cushions fold forward and allow the backs to fold almost flush.

In terms of capability, it's certainly no TJ, but it's reasonably capable - take a look in the "Rigs of Auszookers" section of the forum and you can see whta the guys have done. Yes - the 2000 V6 with auto has an alloy front diff, it's no so much prone to bending as it is to breaking, but that will depend on how you equip it and your right foot - manual transmission V6s would have had a cast iron diff that can be swapped in, and perhaps should be if you want to go play in the rocks.
