There's a couple of coilys on here with these kits in them. Can't say I've seen any Jimnys yet.

But that Jimny in the picture is interesting; rear winch and that half roof bar are something different.

Oh yeah I do remember reading that thread, thinking of getting the kit for my jimny and can't seem to find much info on it

It is a wild looking thing, the company is based out of Istanbul in Turkey. I don't recall seeing a single jimny when I was over there though

There is a fellow on the Jimny Facebook page that has a 4inch kit, ill copy the write up he wrote.

Im currently looking around, but ill probably end up buying the 4inch kit.

Quote:
For anyone that was interested in my opinion on the 4xfourart kit . (It's a bit of a read and please let me know if I've missed anything that you'd like to know )
Okay so it's been a couple weeks that I've been able to drive my jimny with the 4xfourart 4" suspension kit and also 31's , I've done nearly 1000kms of combined highway and slow city driving aswell as towing a 500-600kg trailer , spent a decent amount of time out on some local tracks testing the kit and in my personal opinion this suspension is worth every cent plus some ..... It handles corners/bends 10x better than stock (without swaybar) and handles harsh bumps quite well considering I run 36+ psi in my muddies and I have no extra weight at all, it sometimes can be quite rigid and bouncy with no weight in it but that suits me perfectly ... The articulation is quite impressive considering the suspension geometry hasn't changed .
Panhard rods and brackets :
This kit has been designed for a lhd jimny which means there are a few small issues because of the weight distribution and the panhard locations when fitting to a rhd jimny , the kit includes panhard rod brackets aswell as panhard rods , I removed the brackets afterwards because my diff wasn't central , now it's nearly spot on.
Coils:
Because of the weight distribution in the rhd jimnys I had found that the drivers side of my car was sitting lower than the passengers side , after swapping the springs around I decided to email the manufacturer and he explained the situation and recommended cutting the coil down on the higher side so the car would sit level at about 90mm higher than standard , I decided to go for a 35 mm coil spacer which now makes the car sit level with me in it (120kg) .
Shocks :
The shocks are quite good quality and absorb bumps very well , when it comes to articulation they could be a bit longer because I run 31's which means I don't have as much up travel and a little more down travel would be nice , this can be changed by fitting shock spacers or relocating the bottom shock mount to suit ( this is the option in going with) I will post some pics of how it flexes with no modification of the kit which is still quite impressive. Shocks at full extension were 5" longer from eye to eye for front and rear
Radius arms :
Very well made arms with a patented spherical bush for the chassis end of the arm and poly bushes for diff end , this allows the car to flex a little easier because it's not having to force the bushes that would come in standard arms or other aftermarket branded ones .They are a solid construction and have all the pre-taped holes needed to refit the factory lines , fitting was relatively easy with 2 people but I had damaged my mounts which made it a little harder .
H/D t-case brackets :
Transfercase brackets are well built and fit perfectly with ease and also come with new stainless bolts
Brake lines :
The plastic coated steel braided lines were a perfect fit , more than sufficient length at full flex . These were 4" longer
Driveshaft spacers:
a 10mm for the rear and 20mm for the front , straightforward fit
Bumpstops:
The bumpstops were polyurethane i believe and are 2" longer
The kit also came with a longer tierod end to re-align the steering wheel which I haven't fitted yet
I'm yet to get an exact measurement of flex but will post some pics to give an idea

Wow man good find!

Having someone give a testimony like that has given me heaps more confidence in them especially considering he was able to get in contact with them!

Definitely keen on this kit now

Wow. What would this guy have to have said to put you off the kit?
Why can't anybody understand how radius arms work? (Spherical bushing at the chassis end? Really?)

They are all shots of when the kit was installed.

Steve could you explain more, your thoughts and info would be appreciated, i am just going off what i read, i will admit i am a noob when it comes to coil sprung suspension, im still shopping around for a decent kit, was also looking at the JimnyBits 4inch as well.

They do like their wacky bushes at 4xfourart; my rear GV arms have them.

I was on my phone, hence the short reply.

It's not going to possible to design a spring to work properly within the jimny suspension parameters that works properly at 4" above the factory-designed ride height. This has been proven with every aftermarket spring I've ever seen on a jimny. The springs get perilously close to over compressing (binding) and front compression is restricted by spring design. With a 4" lift spring and a large bumpstop spacer it might be possible to prevent this being a big problem, but all up 4" of lift just creates a huge compromise. The radius arms are now inclined heavily downwards at ride height. This reduces ride quality regardless of spring or shock rate.

The only reason to run non-factory arms on a Jimny is to correct caster using rubber bushes. Adding a spherical bearing at the chassis end won't do anything to add flex as thats limited by the travel of the rubber bushes at the axle end. It's just adding a service part where there wasn't one before.

The panhard rods aren't adjustable. That's fine if the arms centre the axles under the car at the finished ride height, but if the finished ride height is different to what the arms were built for...

I'm not completely sure which way the panhard rods are being "corrected" with the supplied bracketry, but lowering roll centre whilst increasing ride height might not be ideal. All of the Jeep kits that relocate the (rear, not front) panhard rod raise the axle end of the panhard, which will raise the roll centre. I think this is preferable for off road use.

I see there looks to be a bracket to relocate the front panhard rod. This will upset steering geometry. I don't understand why anyone who knows anything about suspension would do this without adjusting the drag link angle to suit.

I can't comment on shock or spring valving - it's not really relevant - there's enough flaky decision making regarding geometry the spring and shock rate isn't relevant.

Additionally, all of the fabricated parts on this kit will require engineer approval. It's likely they will need the coating stripped and magnetic particle examination carried out by an NDT lab in order to be approved. The brake lines will also need to be replaced.

Can of worms in my opinion

Steve

There is a similar kit for an SJ80. Looks to have all the same problems, and some fancy new ones.

I have a full 4xfour art suspension kit in my grand vitara and it's great. On road ride is still very comfortable, can be a little hard over big speed bumps, but then you shouldn't be hitting them at speed anyway. The kit has given me huge amounts of clearance under the car. I have been on a few camping trips since installing it with a fair bit of Beach work and a little rock climbing (nothing serious). The suspension had been flexing nicely to keep the wheels in contact with the ground, which is important with open diffs.
I'm completely new to this stuff and found the installation to be quite straight forward, even with basically no instructions. There was one small spot of welding for the pan- hard relocation bracket on the back.
All in all I'm very happy with the kit and can't imagine going with any other companies because they just don't have the complete kits.
I also dealt directly with the company. They were very good and replied to emails daily.
