Hi guys... Ive been looking at a cheap way to raise my 1994 LWB Vitara, yeah I know the saying; buy once, cry once; but dont really need big lift as it does its required job as is... I just want a bit more height plainly for looks... Ive found these coil spacers on ebay and just thought I would ask if anyone has had any experience wit them before? If so, how did you find them? And would you recommend them to other people? Also, how hard are they to install? I have a spring compressor tool. <http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/POLYURETHANE-ADD-ON-COIL-SPRING-SPACERS-SUZUKI-SJ80-VITARA-/380157088817?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item588320d431> Thanks everyone

Never used spacers, but if I were going to use them, I wouldn't be buying from that guy ... Quote: We are not to be confused with a 4WD store. As we are manufacturers only we cannot offer any technical advice.

I have some of his spacers on my Vit and he was very helpful shipping me some when I needed them interstate and in a hurry.

Why not just run a body lift if its just for looks? CV's will have a bad angle with big coil spacers, also if you already have a suspension lift, coil spacers arent easy to fit. Body lift is really easy, also cheap spring compressors are dangerous!

I was mainly looking at running the coil spacers because the ones I mentioned are like $70 haha. As far as I am concerned, the car is stock height still and although I would love to put a 2 inch suspension lift under it, as a uni student. I just don't have the funds.
Whats involved in doing a 2 inch body lift to a vit? I was told I would need to do all sorts of things like modify the hand brake cable and brake lines and all sorts of stuff haha.
My old man reckons they were expensive when he bought them in the 80's but honestly I wouldn't know how true that is haha.

think the vit ones are $200ish for Body lift from just_cruizin on here, if you are going to do a sus lift later on i wouldnt bother with spacers as it will be hard to fit, and cv's will have a terrible angle. A bloke i know ran 2inch coil spacers and 2 inch sus lift and kept breaking cv's all the time. He then went and bought body lift and doesnt have a problem. A lot of info on here about body lifts

Alright mate. Thanks for that. Looks like I will leave it stock for now and then save up for a suspension lift instead... Body lifts are apparently being seriously defected in my area atm.

Body lifts are perfectly legal in every state of Australia as far as I am aware. The only reason for a defect would e if they are poorly designed or constructed.
A body lift and spring spacers do two completely different things. A body lift provides room for larger tyres - the body will always be 2" further away from the axles regardless of where the suspension ends up as it flexes.
Spring spacers need to be treated with caution They can be useful for tuning rake or levelling a car, but for outright lift, they're a bit of a problem. The biggest issue is that even though the static height is 2" taller, the axle can still reach the (standard) bumpstop tHis is a problem, because often the springs will bind before the axle can reach the bumstop, so really, you need to space the bumpstop down buy the same height as the bumpstop, which means you've lost 2" of wheel travel.
I use a 20mm spacer to correct sierra lean in my car, but I also have very long bumpstops, so there's no risk of spring bind for me.
Steve.
