Hi all,

I installed a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift on my '92 SWB Vitara.
What is the right size diff spacer i would need and where can i buy it ?

It's unlikely you need one at all.

How can determine that ? To me it looks like there is a lot of "extra" space but did not check before so have no reference.

If you mean drive shaft spacer, around 25mm.

Body lift wont affect it, its just extra lift.

Did your suspension lift change any of the rear links?
If not, you wont need one as you are still within the design travel.
If you add a spacer you may bind at full compression.

There is a lot of spline travel on a vit xfer and driveshaft.
Ill measure one if you want.

Yes Ozziecouch/Jdk81, was talking about the rear driveshaft. Not sure how to check if i need one.
Would be nice to know how much i have to work with. Dont want break anything. Any advice ? Still new at this.

You don't need one with a 2" lift.

I settled on a 12mm tail shaft spacer for my 93 LWB with 2" lift onto OME 40mm springs,
mainly to take out the looseness in worn splines of tail shaft.
I cycled the suspension and decided any more would risk it punching the transfer case.
Did not look like it could fall out, either.
Do your measurings and decide.
Is unlikely you will need a spacer, but don't go too big.

Got mine from Bits4Vits in UK but I think there is many US suppliers.

You don't need one at 2" of lift.

As said by all, not needed on 2 "or less.
But if you want to measure something,
just make sure it can't go in too deep, or fall out.

I would say u shouldn't need one at all unless u have a ball joint spacer. The balljoint is the limiting strap as such. If u add 50mm extra down travel that would be when u need the spacer . Or when u add longer links or non ball joint upper like calmini etc

Checked mine just now, under two inch lift (iron man), no ball joint spacer, 18mm drive shaft spacer.
Been running the same setup for four years.

18mm is a lot. I'd be taking the springs out, fully compressing the rear end, and checking that you still have at least 10-15mm of plunge on the slip yoke.

There should be no need for a spacer, it creates more risk of bottoming the slip yoke, which can be catastrophic.

I'll measure it up if the suspension ever gets changed again, but 3 years of daily driving, wheeling, jumps up the beach, even a round of tough tracks, no catastrophic failures yet.

with the 12mm spacer how much of your slip yoke is sticking out of the box?
