So the build is going well and we're slowly but surely bolting all the bits and pieces back together and to Zook is starting to look like it should.
I picked up a heap Air con parts a while ago with a view to installing but missing a few bits and pieces and needs a new condenser especially so by the time i get parts and gassed up etc I'm probably up for another $300 bucks or more.
Aircon in a soft top is probably a bit of a waste of time anyway but its a nice to have for de-misting etc and a bit of a cool breeze on a hot summers day.
So I'm still in two minds. DO I recommision and cough up the dough and get it going?
OR
The compressor is in good nick, so do I turn it into an endless air style air compressor and make good use of it? This would be a fairly easy modification but i'm unsure if I have to actually do anything to the compressor to get the best output pressure results...
If it's a Sierra (denso) compressor it won't function as an air compressor, regardless of mods. You need an axial piston (sanden) or piston (York) compressor to use for air rather than refrigerant gas.
I'd love an aircon in mine for winter de-fogging duties! takes a few mins from startup at the moment to get air warm enough to de-fog. Aircon would be near instant =)
