Hi I'm new to the forum and suzukis altogether and I am looking for a 3.2 GV. I have a few questions that you all might be able to help me out with.

The first is the options for bull bars for the 3.2. Has anyone fitted the xrox bar to the 3.2? If so any special requirements? What model was it ? If not what would be recommended as a reasonable winch bar?

The second is the other end of the deal with the tow bar. What is the best option out there I have seen that the factory ones seem to cause a few clearance problems.

The third. if you have a 3.2 in brisbane that your looking to shift let me know

Thanks
Marc

AFAIK the type of engine wont have any effect on fitting body accessories on a NGV

You won't find many options on towbars that maintain exit clearance without modifying the rear fender and moving the rego plate. That will be a custom bar.

The NGV is a monocoque chassis design (like almost every car these days) as compared to the earlier ladder frame chassis. My old man had one of these and he bent the bonded "tophat chassis" channel where the tow bar attaches. He was towing a camper trailer on corrugated dirt roads. I had to reinforce the channel to fix the issue and the badly sagging towbar.

I was under the impression that the 3.2 was the 'pick of the bunch' when it came to the later models? The 2.4 petrol seems to have heaps of bad reports and the renault diesel is, well, a renault diesel.

Stick with the earlier H27's then, I guess?

I have a 2005 H27, very happy with it. Towed a camper trailer for 8500km through outback Qld and NSW with no troubles.

I thought the 3.2 was aswell, but just over a week ago I had a suzuki mechanic come and fit my rear main seal with the proper tool for a carton.
I asked about all the motors. Thats when I found out all about them, he said the 3.2 is old tech and that they're prone to jumping teeth. The 2.4 got a good wrap from him, and showed me the video on his phone of a radiator where they had mixed the coolants and they go to jelly and cook them. Its the main reason the 2.4's die.
He gives the the 2.7 the thumbs up, he actually has the jb with the last of the 2.7s that he got for under $2000 because the previous owner didn't service the car in 60,000km 8O.
Some of the pictures on his phone of gummed up dirty motors from not servicing was actually amazing.

That's interesting and a little depressing about the chains jumping on the 3.2. I wonder if it's caused by a design fault or worn components?

I will probably stick with the choice on the 3.2 assuming that I can find one at the right price and condition. I have wasted a good part of my life recently reading up on the Suzi and the info openly available paints them to be the best but that could only because of limited numbers compared to the 2.7

My main reason for the 3.2 is power and fuel consumption. The power because I want it and the fuel consumption because it quiteens the wife down a little. Our other car is an i30 diesel and she thinks all cars only use 5.6 litres a hundred km.

It will be mostly used to tow a small camper around on little adventures.

Every zook motor has there issues but. 2.4 cracked block 1.9 everything lol 3.2 etc... stick to the 3.2. Regarding the bullbars just be careful as the 3.2 has the headlight washers which i know has been an issue in the past with arb bullbars but there are ways around it.

A H27A is going to be an older car than a 3.2
There are going to be lots of H engined cars in the coming few years, that are un-economic to repair when the timing chains need replacing or break. I hadn't read too much about the 3.2 having similar sorts of issues.
If I was going to replace my '99 H25A GV with a newer car, it would be a 3.2 NGV.

AparentIy there isn't alot ot 3.2's on the road compared to the 2.7's and later 2.4's. Now dont confuse the 2.7's in the NGVs as they dont have the same issues the 2.5's have.
