I do not want to run this size tyre as I think it's a bit big, but I can not find 215/75r15's anywhere in an AT or MT style in this country.

I have found 215/80r15's at a good price in hankook ATM, but I just think it's a little too much for the gearing (auto) not to mention the trimming that will be needed. Has anyone else run this size before?

Other options include cooper AT3 in 235/75r15 at an expensive price or Chinese HT's in 215/75r15 and I would prefer to keep the stock items

So what would you do? I am thinking of just keeping the stock 205/70's for now as I don't want gearing

Mine seems to work well with 225/75/15 tyres. Still gets great economy and lowrange is low enough. 2013 manual

hankook do a MT and AT in 215/75 r15. I just put a set on my jimny last week. RT-03 i believe is the name/code of the tyre.

I am about to fit some Toyo open country 215 70 15. I've heard some good things about them

Yeah I know they make them, I just can't seem to find them over here. Its all wrangler and patrol sizing. I would like the rf10 or whatever the AT is. I could keep looking but I have tried around 10 shops and they all say we don't te that size over here.

Shipping is also difficult due to customs etc

What style tyre do you run?

The 215/80 would only be .2 an inch bigger? Is this high school prom again? Does that .2 and inch make a difference?

Looks like you can get a Michelin Latitude Cross in 195 80 R15 over there, which is a step up from stock size, but just a tiny bit smaller (1.3mm smaller) then the 215 75 R15.
Unfortunately these Michelins are not a very aggressive pattern though.

The most commonly available (don't know about in UAE, it didn't come up in my search) 195 80 R15 is the Kumho KL71.
When my current set of 215 75 KL71s are due for replacement I'll be seriously looking at a set of 195 80 Kumhos. I like the idea of slightly taller then but with less tred width/rolling resistance. Just my 2 cents...

I might leave it for the time being. I might swap on the 215/80's later and if it drives bad I will just swap in a set of 4.3 manual diff gears

So did a little research on this and it might not be a bad option as:
BFG km2 215/75r15 measures up at 28inches
Hankook ATM 215/80r15 measures up at 28.5inches

So really there is only half an inch in it. And to my knowlege plenty of people have run 215/75r15 km2's with success and been happy. People that have gone to 235/75r15's look to have regretted it, but this size in km2's measure up at 29.1 inch so it is getting a bit big for stock gearing. I am also running an auto which dampens things

Whilst the auto does dampen gearing problems, it does so by generating more heat. I strongly recommend a proper cooler and gauge for the auto

nah heat isn't an issue over here....

Yeah I think the UAE cars already have bigger trans coolers. I am worried they won't let me install a gauge and bigger cooler because of warranty.....which would be stupid
