I need to build some rock sliders for my gv. It has a body lift and i drive a lot of rocks so it needs to be strong. Im after different ideas for different styles with pros and cons. Want to try and keep as high as possible. Will have a step as well
Chassis mounted tube sliders Pros -Quick easy to build -Can remove to repair -Strong Cons -Hang down heaps -Heavy -welding some brackets on chassis
Cut out sill and weld in rhs Pros -improved ground clearence. -SPEED HOLES! Cons -welding suzuki panels Body strengh effected maybe? Puts a lot of pressure on body studs. Might need to add more body mounts.
Folded leminating plate welded over sills Pros Can make some intresing shapes and include step in to design Light Cons -same as above
